Feeding Guideline: Fit For Lake Malawi Cichlids Fish
These spirulina flakes float on the surface for a while before gradually sinking, so top-feeding fish get the first bite, while middle and bottom dwellers can still grab their share as the flakes drift down. It's a great fit for both herbivores and omnivores in freshwater or saltwater setups, meaning you won't need to juggle different feeds for every species in your tank.
For feeding, aim for two or three small meals a day, just enough that your fish can polish off in two to three minutes. Be sure to scoop out any leftovers to keep your water quality in check. The flakes are thin and snap easily between your fingers, or you can crumble them into finer pieces for smaller fish and juveniles. Once opened, keep the bag sealed and stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and try to use it up fairly quickly to maintain freshness.
