Aqua Plus® SnakeHead Sticks are formulated for medium to large carnivorous fish, whose digestive systems process animal proteins more efficiently than plant-based ingredients. The formula delivers at least 52% crude protein from white fish meal and squid viscera meal, with an amino acid profile that closely matches natural prey. Fat content sits around 8%, providing enough energy for daily activity without overloading the liver. Ash stays under 12%, keeping kidney stress low and making this feed suitable for long-term use.
-

This SnakeHead fish food uses a stick shape not for appearance, but to create a natural drifting motion as it sinks, which helps trigger feeding responses in predatory fish. The sink rate is set to around 3 to 5 seconds, slower than standard sinking pellets, giving fish time to spot and strike. An outer layer releases attractants quickly to draw fish in, while the inner core delivers nutrients at a slower pace, so fish continue to get value even after biting and crushing the stick. Vitamin C is protected through microencapsulation, keeping heat damage low and retention above 95%.
-

For new arrivals or fish not yet used to formulated feed, soaking the sticks in tank water for about 10 seconds helps soften them and makes acceptance easier. During routine feeding, using tweezers to present the stick can mimic the movement of live prey and encourage a more natural feeding response. When water temperature drops below 22°C, metabolism slows down – cut portions of this Channa food by half to prevent leftover waste from affecting water quality. Once opened, keep the container sealed and use within six weeks for best results, as moisture exposure can affect texture and nutrient stability.

FAQ
Q: If fish don't eat immediately, will they pollute the water?
A: The feed is water-stable for up to 2 hours but should be removed if uneaten after 15 minutes.
Q: Can this be the sole diet long-term?
A: It meets basic nutritional needs, but supplementing with frozen bloodworms or vegetables once a week is recommended.
Q: Why is the feed dark red?
A: This comes from natural astaxanthin and spirulina (SGS-certified, no artificial dyes).
Q: How to feed juvenile fish?
A: Break sticks into 1/3 size or grind into powder for easier consumption.
Q: Why is it more expensive than regular feed?
A: Lower actual cost per gram (23% savings) due to reduced feeding amounts and fewer health issues.
