Channa Snakehead Fish Food

Aqua Plus® Channa Snakehead Sticks are formulated for snakeheads and other freshwater carnivorous fish with a strong preference for animal-based foods. The stick format provides a substantial feeding piece that is easy for larger Channa to locate, grasp and consume, while allowing the keeper to control the feeding quantity more accurately than with live feeder fish.

This formula is centered on high concentrations of animal protein and offers excellent palatability, specifically designed for predatory fish. When fed, the stick-shaped pellets are particularly attractive to snakeheads; the feed gradually softens during consumption, making it easy for the fish to bite and swallow.

Feeding Method

For adult Channa, whole sticks can be offered when the size is appropriate. For juveniles, break the sticks into shorter pieces. Start with a small amount and observe how quickly the fish consume it. Add more only when necessary. For surface-feeding Channa, place the sticks gently on the water surface. Avoid dropping excessive food into the aquarium at one time.

Offer only an amount that can be consumed within several minutes. Commercial carnivorous fish diets commonly recommend limiting feeding to what the fish can consume in a short feeding period. Any uneaten sticks should be removed rather than left to break down in the aquarium.
