Aqua Plus® Dried Gammarus Fish Food is made from dried freshwater amphipods, commonly known as scuds, and provides a natural whole-prey feeding option for compatible ornamental fish. The intact crustacean structure offers a different feeding texture from conventional flakes and pellets. It is suitable for many omnivorous and carnivorous fish that can swallow or tear the dried amphipods into manageable pieces.
Dried Gammarus Food can be used as a supplementary feed in freshwater aquariums and ponds, with feeding portions adjusted to fish size and feeding response. For smaller fish, the amphipods can be broken into smaller pieces or softened before feeding.
Feeding Precautions
Break up large pieces of food to ensure each piece can be easily swallowed.
Soak beforehand if necessary. If the food needs softening-especially for fish that struggle to eat hard, dry food-briefly soak the dried Gammarus shrimp in water from the tank.
Remove uneaten food. Promptly clear away leftovers to reduce organic waste and maintain water quality.
Avoid overfeeding. Start with a small amount and adjust based on actual consumption.
