Products Description

Natural Dried Gammarus for Fish

Aqua Plus® Sun Dried Gammarus are made of 100% pure natural high quality gammarus, which is harvested from non-polluted rivers or lakes, and processed by special drying and sterilization. The gammarus is suitable for feeding reptiles and all sorts of tropical fishes, especially for turtles. It contains abundant protein, chitin, calcium and phosphorus, which are most helpful to build the shell of Turtles.

Dried Gammarus are processed by drying the organisms in their whole, intact form-rather than grinding them into powder or forming them into pellets-thereby preserving their natural structure. This offers animals a feeding experience distinct from that provided by fish flakes, pellets or powdered feed.

Advantages

Freeze Dried Gammarus

Sun drying reduces the moisture content of the raw material, making the product convenient to handle, portion and store when properly packed. It also removes the need for frozen storage in normal distribution, although the product must still be protected from humidity, heat and prolonged exposure to air. Good storage practices are particularly important for dried aquatic ingredients because moisture and oxidation can affect freshness over time.

For ornamental fish keepers, whole Gammarus offers variety alongside complete formulated feeds. Larger goldfish, koi, cichlids and other fish that can comfortably swallow the pieces may accept it as an occasional supplementary food. Aquatic turtles can also consume Gammarus as part of a varied diet, but their overall nutritional requirements must still be met through an appropriate feeding plan.

Feeding

Freeze Dried Gammarus food

The best way to use Sun Dried Gammarus Shrimp is to match the portion size to the animal. Larger pieces may be suitable for larger fish and turtles, while smaller fish may need the crustaceans broken into manageable pieces or softened in water first. Offer only an amount that can be eaten within a short feeding period, and remove leftovers to prevent them from accumulating in the aquarium or feeding area.

Observe feeding behavior. If an animal repeatedly spits out the food or struggles to swallow it, use a smaller size or a more suitable feed.

Maintain water quality. Leftover food and fragments can increase organic waste. Clean the feeding area and monitor water quality during regular maintenance.

Do not force acceptance. Animals may have different feeding preferences. If Gammarus is refused, provide an appropriate alternative rather than allowing the animal to go without adequate nutrition.
