Aqua Plus® Discus Fish Food is tailored to discus fish's high protein needs, using fish meal and krill meal with limited plant protein to aid digestion and minimize waste. Pellet hardness and size adapt to growth stages, and low-temperature extrusion preserves nutrients. Discus Granules are coated with attractants and vitamins under online monitoring, and off-spec batches are automatically discarded.
Color Enhancing Discus Food uses astaxanthin and spirulina as primary colour-enhancing components, supporting colour stability through gradual carotenoid deposition in the scales. This process depends on metabolic efficiency and does not produce short-term results. Discus Bites have density adjusted for slower sink rates, allowing discus fish to feed in the water column without chasing to the bottom. Beefheart Discus Food has fat content adjusted upward from the base formula, supporting breeding stock during the reproductive period and juveniles during rapid growth phases.
Daily Use
Discus Fish Food should be portioned based on what fish finish within two to three minutes. Adults receive one to two feedings daily. Juveniles receive three to four smaller feedings per day, with each portion smaller but more frequent. After opening, keep sealed in a cool, dry place. Damp conditions cause clumping and affect even distribution. Digestibility remains consistent across batches, and leftover material stays at the bottom for a shorter period than powdered feeds, with decomposition rates lower than those of powders. Water change intervals can be extended moderately, though the exact period depends on portion size and stocking density, not a fixed schedule.
