Freeze Dried Gammarus

Aqua Plus^® Freeze Dried Gammarus are sourced from clean freshwater environments such as lakes, rivers, and streams. Primary screening is completed at the collection point, removing damaged individuals and debris before transport. Multiple washing steps and ultrasonic cleaning remove surface sediment and microorganisms. The cleaned material is graded by size and integrity, with individuals of the same grade processed in the same batch to ensure drying uniformity. Samples are taken before and after cleaning, with results archived by batch.

Freeze Dried Scuds are frozen below -40°C at the start of the drying cycle, with ice crystal size kept within a range that minimises mechanical damage to cell walls. The frozen material is transferred to a vacuum chamber, where temperature is gradually raised under low pressure. Ice sublimates directly into vapour without passing through a liquid phase. The temperature curve is divided into three phases, with rapid heating in the early stage to remove surface moisture, a steady phase for internal moisture migration, and a cooling phase to end the cycle. Moisture content after drying drops below 5%, and rehydration brings texture and form close to the fresh state. The full cycle runs between 20 and 24 hours, with duration adjusted by batch thickness and density.

High Protein Fish Food is tested for protein content, water activity, and microbial indicators before release. Protein content exceeds 53%, and water activity stays below 0.3. Natural Fish Food has test data archived by batch number, linked to production date and drying curve parameters. Freeze Dried Amphipods suit cichlids, tetras, goldfish, and small marine fish. Feed once or twice daily, with each portion consumed within two to three minutes. After opening, keep sealed and away from moisture. Softening from moisture exposure does not affect safety.
