GSL Artemia Cysts

Aqua Plus^® GSL Artemia Cysts are harvested from the Great Salt Lake, Utah, USA– a globally recognized source of high-quality brine shrimp eggs. The cysts undergo over-wintering, washing, drying, and grading processes, with each batch subjected to rigorous quality testing. Hatch rates consistently reach around 90%, with 240,000–280,000 nauplii per gram–delivering high output and consistent batch-to-batch performance.

Artemia nauplii are an ideal live feed for larval fish and shrimp during first feeding and early growth stages, rich in protein and essential fatty acids. The nauplii average 470 microns in size, suitable for the mouth gap of a wide range of marine and freshwater larvae. Their active swimming motion in water effectively triggers larval hunting instincts and encourages active feeding.

Recommended hatching conditions: temperature of 28–30°C, constant illumination and aeration, stocking density not exceeding 2 grams of cysts per liter, and pH maintained between 7.8 and 8.5. Under these conditions, hatching completes within approximately 18–24 hours. After hatching, stop aeration and allow 10–15 minutes for settlement–nauplii will gather near the bottom and can be siphoned for feeding. Store unused product in sealed packaging under refrigeration (below 5°C) to maintain hatching viability.
