Shrimp PL400 Microencapsulated Feed

Aqua Plus^® PL400 Microencapsulated Whiteleg Shrimp Feed is developed around the feeding capacity and nutritional demands of Whiteleg shrimp at PL20 stage. By PL20, post-larvae have grown to a decent size with noticeably higher feed intake. The 400-micron particle size matches their mouth gap well-they take it in one bite with good feeding efficiency. Microencapsulation technology encloses high-concentration marine proteins, highly unsaturated fatty acids, and immune enhancers within stable capsule walls. The feed releases nutrients slowly in water with minimal leaching, ensuring good absorption. The formula is rich in marine proteins, with boosted phospholipids and astaxanthin to support rapid growth and health conditioning.

This PL400 microencapsulated feed suspends evenly in the water column upon entry, with no clumping or excessive sinking, mimicking how live prey distributes in the water. The capsule walls stay stable in seawater for hours without breaking apart, so residual feed stays low and you can cut down on water exchange and filter cleaning. These stay suspended rather than dropping to the bottom-PL20 post-larvae are active swimmers, but having feed suspended in the water column means they spend less energy chasing and put more into growth.

PL400 micro-pellets work as a bridging feed from hatchery tanks to grow-out ponds. Besides replacing part of the Artemia, they can be mixed with crumble feeds or small pellets. After 2-3 days of mixed feeding, shrimp adapt fully to formulated diets. From there, you can directly switch to 0.3mm-0.5mm starter crumbles without additional training–simplifying large-scale operations.
