Microencapsulated compound feed for shrimp post-larva

Stage-Specific Nutritional Foundation

Aqua Plus® Micro encap feed for shrimp post larvae is developed around the feeding capacity and metabolic traits of PL1-PL4 early post-larvae. At this stage, shrimp have just metamorphosed from Mysis-their mouth gap is still small and feeding ability is limited, so particle size needs to be fine enough for them to take in. Microencapsulation technology encloses high-concentration marine proteins, essential fatty acids, and immune enhancers within stable capsule walls. The feed releases nutrients slowly in water with minimal leaching, matching the slower feeding pace of early post-larvae.

Water Performance

This microencapsulated post-larvae feed suspends evenly in the water column upon entry, with no clumping or excessive sinking, mimicking how live prey distributes in the water. The capsule walls stay stable in seawater for hours without breaking apart, so residual feed stays low and you can cut down on water exchange and filter cleaning. The particles stay suspended rather than dropping to the bottom, so early post-larvae – which have limited swimming ability – don't waste energy chasing feed and can put that energy into growth instead.

Live Feed Replacement & Weaning Protocol

This microencapsulated feed can partially replace Artemia nauplii, saving you live feed cultivation costs and reducing the risk of pathogens carried by live prey. For early post-larvae, start with mostly Artemia and a little micro-feed, then slowly increase the micro-feed ratio. A full switch usually takes 3 to 5 days. This approach helps post-larvae transition smoothly with good survival and batch uniformity.

FAQ
FAQ

Q: How does micro-encapsulated feed differ from crumbled feed?

A: Four key differences:
Structure: Microcapsules enable controlled release.
Stability: 8+ hours in water vs. 2-3 hours for crumbles.
Nutrient retention: Minimal leaching.
Water impact: No pollution.

Q: How to assess shrimp adaptation?

A: Monitor:
Feeding response (active within 10 min).
Gut fullness (continuous under microscope).
Growth rate (target: 2.8-3.5 mg/day).

Q: Can it be mixed with other feeds?

A: Not recommended due to:
Selective feeding (shrimp may prefer conventional feed).
Nutrient imbalance (disrupts release profile).
Performance tracking difficulty.
