Traditional shrimp larval feeds have issues with form and release. Powders dissolve quickly in water, losing nutrients before ingestion. Pellets have fixed sizes, too large for early larvae and too small for later stages. Aqua Plus® Microcoated Shrimp Hatchery Feed (Zoea Stage) solves the size matching problem. Microencapsulated Shrimp Larval Feed (Mysis Stage) addresses sink rate. Microencapsulated Shrimp Larval Feed (PL Stage) handles density and hardness. The three stages use the same encapsulation technology, but particle size, sink rate, and capsule wall thickness are set separately, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
Zoea 1-3 larvae have the smallest mouth gaps and feed mainly by filtration. Particle size: 50-100 microns, thin walls, extended suspension time.
Mysis 1-3 shift to active predation. Particle size: 100-150 microns, thicker walls, faster sinking.
PL 1-4 have stronger feeding capacity. Particle size: 150-200 microns, increased wall hardness.

PL particle hardness affects batch uniformity. Microencapsulated Shrimp Larval Feed has parameters adjusted for each stage, not carried over. After opening, keep sealed away from light. Zoea and Mysis grades are fine and moisture causes clumping.
