Black Brine Shrimp Flakes Hatchery Flakes

Aqua Plus^®  Black Brine Shrimp Flakes Hatchery Flakes are produced from premium brine shrimp through a low-temperature drying process that converts them into flake form. The natural marine proteins, unsaturated fatty acids, and pigments of brine shrimp are fully preserved-offering nutritional value comparable to live Artemia, but with much greater convenience. The product is specifically designed for Whiteleg shrimp at PL1-PL10 stages. The flakes soften quickly in water, making them easy for post-larvae to bite and consume, with good palatability that keeps feeding activity high.

These black brine shrimp hatchery flakes disperse evenly across the water surface and mid-upper layers upon entry, with no clumping or excessive sinking, mimicking the distribution of live Artemia in the water. The flakes stay intact as they soften, without breaking into powder that clouds the water. Residual feed and waste are easy to remove through drainage, reducing water exchange frequency and system maintenance load. Compared to live Artemia, the flakes carry no pathogen risk, offering better biosecurity.

For early PL1-PL4 stages, start with mostly live Artemia and a little hatchery flake – crush the flakes into fine powder for easier intake. From PL5 onwards, gradually increase the flake ratio and feed them whole. A full transition from live feed to flake usually takes 3 to 5 days. By mid-to-late stages, you can replace live Artemia entirely with the flakes, significantly cutting live feed cultivation costs. Feed 4-6 times daily, small amounts per feeding, with each portion consumed within 2-3 minutes.
